The restaurant can be reached by skis, an authentic Valdostan stone and wood lodge set in a sunny location. It offers a charming atmosphere for skiers during the winter an hikers in the summer. Every attention to detail has been paid in their main dining room and their two splendid terraces have a breathtaking view. Family owned, owner Roberta Bottel’s hospitality, love for wines and the culinary arts will give you unforgettable moments. Their menu offers traditional dishes such as polentina made with stone ground wheat and the veal guanciale on potato puree together with some surprises such as the Lillaz trout carpaccio marinated with fennel and fresh citrus fruits or the delicious and scrumptious desserts and biscotti. Each day for lunch, one dish, one dessert and one glass of wine for about € 20; you’ll always find new dishes every day. The dinner menu changes weekly and it is priced at € 70 plus € 18 for snowmobile delivery. Special menus are available for children or adults with food allergies. Young chef Federico Fava, who’s had important experience abroad combines tradition and modernity wisely to create an explosion of unforgettable flavors.

Ristorante Baia Azzurra

The philosophy of this restaurant, located straight on the beach, is: “few thing, but good ones”. Thanks to its position, and to a pleasant dehors, it is possible to eat “pied dans l’eau” all year round. Donato Piccirilli, the owner, welcomes each and every guest, recommending the dish of the day – often a fish dish, simple but also tasty, and (most importantly) light. As starters, you can find some delicious and renowned anchovies, thebrandacujun, and an octopus salad with local artichokes. Among the first courses, we recommend spaghetti with clam sauce and pesto dressing, or gnocchetti with squid; among the second courses, valuable options are the fritto misto and the fish grilled mix, both extremely fresh. The high quality of the ingredients, and the fact that the vegetables are all sourced locally, make this restaurant a safe bet, where you will feel pampered, in a familiar but curated environment. The tasting menu is priced 35 Euros and comprises a starter, first and second course (with sides), a dessert, drinks, and coffee. It is however also possible to opt for a la carte, choosing less courses and thus saving. There is also a children’s menu, as this restaurant is popular with families. From May to October the bath-house also opens, thus allowing for a full day of fun and relax. The wine list has a good selection of local and Piedmontese labels.

Antiche Sere

The tradition of the “piole” has always existed in Turin. They were taverns where you could drink wine and have some traditional dishes. This historic restaurant in Cenischia street (open only in the evenings) is one of the few true “piole” left in the city, with wooden decor and a nice pergola to dine out in the summer. You might bump into Francesco Guccini when he’s on tour in Turin or even Carlin Petrini, the soul of the Slow Food movement. You can start off with the mixed appetizers, from peppers with anchovies to Tomino cheese with red pepper, tongue and herb frittata. You can also try the delicious homemade gnocchi with sausage or the classic agnolotti with roasted beef sauce. There’s also the rabbit in white wine and pork shank is almost always available. Among the desserts you shouldn’t miss the classic bunet or the hazelnut cake with homemade zabajone. Extremely honest wine prices. At this restaurant it is still possible to dine with 30/35 euro. You should make reservations ahead of time during the weekend or you’ll have a hard time finding a table.

Cioccolocanda di Silvio Bessone

In Cioccolocanda you can experience emotions, entering the world of Silvio Bessone, a master widely experienced confectioner and chocolate maker, who dedicated his life to the precious seed of cocoa and wants to share his passion telling his experience searching for the best qualities in the locations where cocoa is cultivated and intertwining the social and environmental aspects. In the structure is located the Chocolate Museum, where are shown the various stages of preparation of the “food of the Gods”, the restaurant, where it is possible to taste the “emotional” menus based upon typical products from Monregale and surrounding areas contaminated by cocoa in all forms. In the inn there are six thematic rooms where can be found intriguing suggestions like melting night or chocolate shared bath or choco-massage. Quite interesting is also the pastry course where the dark chocolate cupcake that is prepared in the afternoon is enjoyed during the dinner. The menu offered at 45 Euro, includes a visit to the museum and the pastry course, among the dishes to taste the small cocoa Butter fried fish, the cocoa flavoured palette of cold meats, Castelmagno cocoa gnocchi, barolo sausage and cocoa beans, the three temperatures warm cupcake. All dishes are accompanied by a proper wine, with labels from the best Piedmont producers.

Osteria la Salita

Monforte has a historic center that’s worth visiting. Osteria “La Salita” is located in a courtyard, you enter through a small door and you’ll find yourself in the middle of a very welcoming atmosphere. Chef Marco Saffirio offers a simple and traditional cuisine with creative touches, full of local high quality products thanks to his direct relationship with providers in the area. The tasting menu is priced at € 35 and it includes two starters, a first course, a second course and dessert; € 48 if you add 3 glasses of wine and €42 if you choose their “designated driver” menu with two glasses of wine. You’ll find traditional Piedmontese dishes such as meat tartare, Langa salad,Toma cheese and celery foam, caramel apples, and bent cardoon flan with a light bagna cauda. Among first courses: artichoke stuffed ravioli with tuna style rabbit, or with bronze die squid ink spaghetti with fava beans tomatoes and shrimp. Among second courses you should try the rabbit roulade stuffed with apples, lard and herbs and the cheese sampling served with honey, compotes and dried fruit. For dessert you should try their molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream or the coffee semifreddo accompanied with a soft biscuit.

Ittiturismo M/B Patrizia

Reliable destination for those who want to taste the freshest fish and the famous Sanremo red prawns. Today, Alfonso Di Gerlando who descends from 3 generations of fishermen is the owner along with his wife of the fishing charter “Motorboat Patrizia“, which is the source of what is served in the restaurant in traditional and imaginative preparations. The menu of the Ittiturismo is based for 90% on the catch of the day and enhanced by the skilled hands of the Chef, who, with his staff, prepares the combinations of fish with local products supplied by direct growers and small farms. The restaurant is particularly bright and elegant, with large windows from which you can see the sea. On the menu we find the freshly caught raw ham (€ 33) and the seared squid with stracciatella, black garlic and pumpkin cream (€ 18) or the legume soup, squid and steamed mussels (€ 18). Among the first courses the unmissable Tagliolino with Sanremo red shrimp (23 €) or the Gnocchetti thyme, lemon with monkfish and crispy bacon (18 €). Among the main courses to taste the mixed fried fish (22 €), and the fillet of the local fish with citrus and mustard sauce (23 €). Absolutely to taste the homemade desserts such as the hazelnut cake, cold zabaglione and sanded hazelnuts or the persimmon cream, passion fruit, yogurt and meringue (€ 8). Dalla Padella alla Brace

The restaurant is warm and welcoming and it faces the boardwalk of the charming small city. It has a modern and elegant open air space which can be used during all seasons; beautiful sea and town views can be enjoyed from inside the dining room which together with the beautiful decor make for a very pleasant atmosphere. Young chef Alessio chooses ingredients with care to prepare meat and fish creations with a steady hand. From their appetizers we recommend the farinata and codfish fritters together with the traditional brandacujun, the stockfish with oil and potatoes, the fried anchovies or an intriguing octopus carpaccio. From their first courses you should try their handmade fresh pastas with pestos or seafood or other imaginative fresh fish creations. Among their second courses which depend on the catch of the day we recommend their spectacular grilled fish, fried seafood or Sanremo shrimp. Interesting house desserts. Local selection of wines at honest prices. Excellent value for your money with a kind and attentive staff. You won’t be disappointed. A meal will cost you about 30 euro.

Trattoria Pane e Vino

This tavern is located in the historic town centre, in a comfortable and elegant environment, with exposed brick surface. Wooden chairs and antique furniture, which immediately make the atmosphere homely. An hospitality that describes itself with the smile of Flavio Marengo, that in the lounge gives advice and accompanies people to discover the delicacies of the Langhe, that Emiliana Morino prepares with her great ability. Its cuisine is based upon zero Km. products of the territory following the rhythms of the seasons. The tastings menu is on offer at 40 euros except for wine, and at 55 euro with 4 glasses of wine, representing a real triumph of Langhe specialties, starting from the typical appetizers like veal with tuna sauce knife cut meat, Bra sausage, followed by the ever present tajarin ai 30 rossi and the delicious beef braised in Barolo; ending it all with the classical bunet from the Langhe. Wide is the selection of cheeses from local producers. Many are recipes containing escargots, that made of Cherasco the capital of heliciculture, and on the appropriate season a menu with mushrooms and Alba’s white truffle. The wine list is rich and well maintained, with wines not only from this area, however entrust with confidence to Flavio who will recommend you the best combination.

Al Bistrot dei Vinai

This bistrot, situated close to the central Piazza Galimberti, has – thanks to its woodgrain furniture and its exposed bottles – a contemporary and hip feel, just like its kitchen. Here, at a rapid pace, Chef Paolo Vinai and his staff are responsible for an impressively wide menu. Every day, a different one-course meal is offered, which can be a first course, a second course, a salad, or a pizza – priced between 7 and 9 Euros (including a drink but excluding the service charge). The a la carte menu gives a very broad range of options, with fish and meat starters, or exquisite handmade pasta, such as sea bass ravioli or hand-cut tagliatelle with either meat ragu’ sauce or fish sauces. As second courses, you can choose meat dishes from the brasserie, but also tuna or swordfish tagliata. The desserts are sophisticated and worth a try. The average price is 30 Euros. Extensive wine list with prestigious labels. A more cosy and intimate atmosphere is ensured in the new rooms furnished in a modern and elegant style where you can enjoy tasty recipes with friends or as a couple in a more relaxing and well-kept environment. You can also find some new double rooms with kitchen for tourists who want to extend their stay in Cuneo and dedicate more time to visit the city and its surroundings.

Ristorante Sarri

A sensorial experience of a great level is proposed by the chef Andrea Sarri. The restaurant is located in the small fishing village just outside Imperia. The interior of the restaurant is furnished in modern and essential wood, but refined and welcoming. The presentation of the dishes is very accurate, the dining room service is assigned to his wife Alessandra, professional and courteous. The cuisine is based on local products, coming from the family vegetable garden and local fishermen, while the meat comes from Martini di Boves. It is recommended the menù “Let me stay” at 45 euros, where the chef will amaze you with particolar dishes. Wide choice also in the a la carte menu where, among the appetizers we mention the Oneglia shrimp sprinkled with passito wine, goose liver escalope, barley soup with shallot or the glossy mackerel with vermouth and roasted on red onions, grilled friggitelli and buffalo mozzarella. Among the first courses artisan spaghettini with juvenile fish, “trombette” courgettes and artisan tuna bottarga or the fish soup and Pigna beans with liquid potato raviolini. Among the second courses the shellfish of Oneglia flavoured with Vermentino and aromatic herbs or the fresh fish of the day with pesto, potatoes and green beans. Do not miss the desserts such as the mousse al chai latte, pistachio sponge, spice crumble and apricot sorbet. Refined and selected wine list.
