Osteria la Salita
Monforte has a historic center that’s worth visiting. Osteria “La Salita” is located in a courtyard, you enter through a small door and you’ll find yourself in the middle of a very welcoming atmosphere. Chef Marco Saffirio offers a simple and traditional cuisine with creative touches, full of local high quality products thanks to his direct relationship with providers in the area. The tasting menu is priced at € 35 and it includes two starters, a first course, a second course and dessert; € 48 if you add 3 glasses of wine and €42 if you choose their “designated driver” menu with two glasses of wine. You’ll find traditional Piedmontese dishes such as meat tartare, Langa salad,Toma cheese and celery foam, caramel apples, and bent cardoon flan with a light bagna cauda. Among first courses: artichoke stuffed ravioli with tuna style rabbit, or with bronze die squid ink spaghetti with fava beans tomatoes and shrimp. Among second courses you should try the rabbit roulade stuffed with apples, lard and herbs and the cheese sampling served with honey, compotes and dried fruit. For dessert you should try their molten chocolate lava cake with ice cream or the coffee semifreddo accompanied with a soft biscuit.
