Locanda Santa Rosalia
The inn is in the open countryside with a priceless view of Monviso. It is a farmstead that has been renovated keeping its rural imprint, cosy and with comfortable rooms. In the beautiful hall there is a large fireplace, exposed brickwork and wooden furniture. Loredana dedicates herself to traditional cooking, dishes freshly prepared with produce from the garden cultivated by Matteo, who looks after the room. The menu changes according to the season. Appetisers include Piedmontese classics such as vitello tonnato (veal in tuna sauce), anchovies in green sauce, carpaccio di carne all’albese (meat carpaccio in albese sauce) and a platter of cured meats (5 to 7 €). Among the first courses, mention must be made of the agnolotti with alpine butter and sage, which taste delicious. Equally exquisite are the potato gnocchi with butter and gorgonzola and the risotto with mushrooms (7 to 10 €). Main courses include local meats, such as Piedmontese Fassone rib eye steak (5 €/kg), rabbit all’Arneis or chicken cacciatore with garden side dishes (8 to 9 €). Alternatively, cheeses from the different valleys are offered, from Castelmagno to toma cheese (3 to 7 €). House desserts such as the delicious bonet or panna cotta (from 4 to 6 €) Good choice of local wines with the most prestigious labels. Excellent value for money and a courteous welcome make this place popular all year round with locals and tourists alike.
